[Interop-dev] Survey of node and network management systems out there

Hi!

Kostko and I are working on finishing the new release of nodewatcher
(3.0) and are doing another iteration of features other node and network
management systems have, to see how nodewatcher compares, and see if it
can support them as well (we are trying to make nodewatcher modular so
that it can support anything).

So we are interested if all of you could send us link to the node and
network management systems you use in your networks. We know some old
ones, but are there any new? So, which one are in use today?

Also, is your system doing any monitoring of node health and other
metrics? What protocol does it use to do that? How often do you measure?
How much do you store for the past, and what do you do with this data?
Do you visualize it? Analyze it? Can anybody access it and use it? How
long does it take for your system to make one measurement cycle around
all nodes (and for how many nodes is that)?

Please answer all this questions and help us. :-)

We will summarize all the results we get and make a paper about that as
well.
