If authorities wish to increase IT security levels nation wide or
even worldwide, they need to refrain from derailing open source
initiatives.<br>
If a regulatory wishes to increase overall device compliance, it
needs to ensure the overall existence and availability of after
market firmware and device drivers.<br>
You see what happens in the case of Android (tm), if manufacturers
refuse to deliver even the PIM part of updates (Stagefright).<br>
